What Goes Where? The Final phase of the Community Consultations

‘Our Community’ have been consulting with the community, initially through SKS, and more recently through the community groups that were created following presentation of the SKS consultation results to the community in September 2023. Kilcreggan Village is one of these groups and is presently working through several workshops facilitated by independent consultants, Scott+Simmons.

Upcoming Consultations

After the Kilcreggan Village workshops, the next and final step will be to consolidate all this work into a set of agreed proposals that will form the basis of our Local Place Plan. We would love to engage with you - the community and interested stakeholders once more - and for you to join us in this interactive hands-on process.  We want to hear from you and get everyone together.

This community negotiation process is called ‘geodesign’. The Geodesign process will include two online briefings and a third in-person workshop in the Burgh Hall.

The first online briefing will initiate the opportunity to contribute your expertise, further thoughts and ideas through an anonymous online geosurvey (online survey through mapping). The second online briefing will introduce the in person workshop.  The survey will be open for 3 weeks from the 1st to the 21st October.

The third ‘in-person’ workshop will be a negotiated mapping session that will aim to reach agreement between the Cove & Kilcreggan residents, community groups and interested stakeholders on the spatial arrangement of the community’s ideas and aspirations. It will form the basis of the map to be included in our Local Place Plan.

It will also seek to prioritise desired actions and projects of the C&K community into short-, medium- and long-term categories.

The timetable is as follows:

1st October 2024:  7pm for 30 mins (online)

22nd October 2024: 7pm for 30 mins (online)

26th October 2024:  9.30am - 13.30pm in the Cove Burgh Hall (in-person)

For those who cannot attend the online meetings, we will be putting up recordings of the meetings on our social media pages.

For more information about each event, and the links to join the online sessions, please go to the events page.

To access the mapping survey please press here (Open 1st to 23rd October).

Participate!

We welcome and request all members of the community to participate in our online mapping survey and attend our community workshops. Your feedback will create a comprehensive plan reflecting the needs, wants and hopes of our community to make our community a more attractive and sustainable place to live & work. Your feedback as well as that of your near and dear ones is crucial to the success of this project.

Further details will be shared soon at the end of September 2024.
